Driving Traffic With Twitter
April 29, 2009 by Mark Widawer
It’s never too early.
Even if you’re right in the middle of developing your product, it’s not too early to start thinking about traffic.
And these days, if you’re thinking about traffic, you’re thinking about Twitter.
I have never seen anything sweep through both the internet marketing landscape, and main stream Americana, the way Twitter has.
Tonight, I was watching a local newscast (which I NEVER do…it was on right after a ballgame) and there was a news report about a car accident. During the report, the anchorman says to the reporter “Joe on Twitter asks which intersection that’s closest to.”
Can you believe THAT?
I was pretty surprised. But I guess I shouldn’t be.
Because people are using Twitter in all sorts of ways. A friend of mine, Maria, just did $250,000 in sales of her coaching course — entirely launched on Twitter.
Twitter is worth noticing. That’s whyI asked my friend Laura Roeder, a Twitter Marketing Expert, to talk with me about the very basics of Twitter.
We talked about:
- What is Twitter
- Why do Marketers like Twitter
- How to get Traffic with Twitter
- Marketing with Free Content
- Retweeting
…and much more.
So go watch this video now, and learn how you can start building a following on Twitter so that when it comes time to launch your book, you’ll have a large list of Twittering fans who are eager to buy from you.

Very helpful! I didn’t quite get it either until i watched the video.
Now I’m going to use Twitter, along with my blog to generate interest in my ebook.
Thanks, Mark.
Mark, thank you for this clear, concise explanation. I’ve had a Twitter account for months but didn’t know what to do with it. I think I get it now.
